2022 Makselife Planner First Impressions & Comparison
They are finally here...my 2022 Makselife planners have arrived!
As part of the Makselife Review Crew I got early access to 2 of the planners in the 2022 Makselife Collection to review and share with you. With all the new layout options this year it was a hard choice but I picked the flagship Makselife Vertical and the NEW 6 Month Undated Spiral Horizontal.
Likes:
- I love the chevron cover I picked for my vertical planner and the vegan faux leather cover on my horizontal is amazing! Both are great quality, durable and totally my vibe style wise
- I'm a big fan of the text for each month going back to grey vs being the color of the month
- I like the updated band vs the flag for the goal category headers
- I like that the scallop shape was removed from the icons
- I like that the striped ombre border was removed
- Paper quality and brightness are on point as usual
- I actually really like the spiral coil on the 6 month undated
- I like the subtle color change of the O-wire coil on the flagship planner
- I like the thinner, sharper font used for the month, header text, etc.
Dislikes:
- I don't like the use of the light shades for the circle where the goal category icon is - it's incredibly hard to see
- I would have preferred the band that has the goal category be thicker or centered in relation to the circle with the icon
- I wish they would remove the box at the top of each column in the vertical
- I'm not sure the month stickers that go on the tabs for the undated version are going to fit well (I'll report back on this)
Overall the subtle design changes that were made to the 2022 Makselife planner really improved the esthetic in my opinion. In 2020 the planner was leaning more neutral, in 2021 she amped up the color a bit and for 2022 I think they found the perfect combo of neutral with a bit a color. The quality is great and continues to be what we expect from Makselife and she's really upped her game with offering a ton of layout options.
I plan to purchase the quarterly undated daily option and possibly the vertical unpunched inserts on launch day. If you'd like to test out ALL the layouts before you make a purchase check out the Makselife Printable Library.
